Welcome to the website of the Mid Devon Foxhounds. The Mid Devon Foxhounds meet on Tuesdays and Saturdays from September to the middle of April. On Saturdays the meets take place on Dartmoor. Tuesday is ‘in country’ hunting on farmland and woodland to the North and East of Dartmoor.

Our second Hunt Walk led by Adrian Geering. Meet Lower Middlecott Farm, Chagford. Meet 10.15 for 10.30 start. Approximately 2 hours in lenght. £5 refreshments included.

Members of the Mid Devon Hunt on their inaugural moorland walk from Frenchbeer Cattlegrid. With hounds away on invitation with the Cotswold Hunt those who did not travel decided to find out more about Dartmoor on a three hour walk around the best of our country. A big thanks to Tony Aggett and Mike Mortimore who met up with members half way around providing lunch of hot soup and pasties. Rated a great success by everyone who took part we hope to hold further walks during the Summer. Watch this space for more details...


MID DEVON HUNT Extraordinary Annual General Meeting will be held at the Globe Inn, Chagford on Monday 27th February at 8 pm.

Unfortunately the Point to Point Committee have as a result of two cancelled meetings due to frost, decided it will not run a meeting this year. This is in part to not being able to find a suitable date. Available dates would have had a significant impact on neighbouring hunts. A big thanks to all those sponsors and hunt supporters who worked hard in the run up to point to point.

A large crowd gathered in Chagford Square to greet the Mid Devon Hounds on Boxing Day. Many followed hounds during a very busy day, others merely stayed on and enjoyed company of family and friends in the local public houses which were filled to bursting until late into the afternoon. A big thank you to Fran and all her staff at the Ring O Bells for hosting the meet.


Black Forest Lodge Point to Point Sunday 27th November 2011

Last Sunday saw a large crowd enjoy an excellent day's racing at Black Forest Lodge. With a large entry the seven races saw some close finishes in what where almost idyllic conditions for the time of year.


Last Saturday 390 people attended our Hunt Ball at Monks Withecombe near Chagford. a terrific evening was had by all and no doubt some sore heads on Sunday. A big thank you to Simon and Nicki Heyworth for  making the venue available and their help over the weekend. Also to Erica and Louise who produced the superb food much of it homemade.

The Mid Devon Hunt now own their own crockery and cutlery. We have 200 place settings which include cups and saucers. This can be hired at a very reasonable cost for weddings, parties etc. Please phone Andrew 01837 840620 for further details.
